Search Tools for your Web Browser
Add a Source catalog search box in your Firefox or Internet Explorer search bar
- Open your Firefox or IE browser and go to:
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html?name=UNC+libraries+catalog&sherlock=yes&
opensearch=yes&submitform=Search - Click on "UNC Libraries Catalog - The Source ".
- You will be prompted to add the search provider to your browser search bar. Click OK. The UNC Libraries catalog will appear as a choice in the drop-down list of search providers in the upper right corner of the browser search bar (in Firefox, you must have the main toolbar customized to include a search box).
Add a search button to your Google toolbar in Firefox
- You can use this option if you've already downloaded a Google toolbar as a Firefox extension.
- Open your Firefox browser and go to:
http://toolbar.google.com/buttons/add?url=http://library.unco.edu/finding/tools/sourcesearch.xml - The UNC Libraries catalog will appear as a choice in the drop-down list of search providers next to the search box in the Google toolbar. A button (
) will also be added to the toolbar, providing direct access to our keyword search screen.
