Prospector
Prospector is a unified catalog of academic, public and special libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. Through Prospector you have access to almost 10 million books, journals, sound recordings, films, videotapes and other materials held in these libraries. Prospector is available through:
- UNC Libraries' online catalog on The Source - after performing a search in the UNC catalog, select the button labeled Repeat Search in Prospector
- the World Wide Web at http://prospector.coalliance.org
A complete list of the participating libraries can be seen on the Prospector catalog at http://www.coalliance.org/prospector/prospectormembers.html. Anyone can view the Prospector catalog holdings; however, only persons currently enrolled as UNC students, UNC faculty or staff can use the document delivery function.
You have 10 days to pick up material at the location you chose for delivery. Items not picked up within 10 days will be returned to the lending library. Most Prospector items are loaned for 21 days use. Bound journals and selected media items are loaned for one week only. If the item is a 21 day loan, Prospector allows one 21 day renewal. Bound journals and media items cannot be renewed. To renew an item, either stop at or call the UNC Circulation desk, or request your own renewal through My Account in The Source
Fines accumulate at the rate of $.50 per item per day with a maximum late fine of $10.00, and most lost items will be billed to you at the rate of $100.00 per item. Bound journal loans will be billed to you at the rate of $400.00 per volume.
